SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION is the law and you should register within 30 days of your 18th birthday. A valid social security number is required for online registration

You can register with Selective Service at: https://www.sss.gov/

If you do not have a social security number, you must register by filling out a paper registration form, signing, and mailing it.

Male students who fail to register with Selective Service are ineligible for Federal student loan and grant programs, including Pell Grants, Federal Work-Study, and Stafford Loans. Several states have also made Selective Service registration a prerequisite for state financial aid as well as the application process at public colleges and universities.
